Seminole State College of Florida(SSC) is a public institution that was founded in 1965. It is located in the metropolitan Orlando area in Seminole County, Florida, and it provides learning opportunities at four campuses and sites. SSC is a full-service education provider, offering bachelor's degrees; two-year college-credit degrees; specialized career certificates; continuing professional education; adult education, etc. It is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges.
 
The vision of SSC is to be a national leader in academic programs and services, cultivating equitable and excellent student outcomes, career advancement, and civic engagement in a global society through a collaborative and inclusive environment.

    Analytic Geometry and Calculus III/ Linear Algebra/ Statistical Methods I
    Personal Profile:

    Dr. Wey is a professor of mathematics. She teaches a wide variety of math courses, develops a large span of curriculum and supports foundational students, liberal arts students, STEM students and fellow faculty through various student groups and numerous college-wide committee activities. Additionally, Dr. Wey continues to teach undergraduate mathematics at Rutgers University since 1994. Her interests include initiatives that support females in STEM as well as math placement policy at colleges and universities.

    Personal Profile:

    Dr. Glynn Hayes is a creative science educator with 20 years of teaching experience.He gained his PhD in Geosciences from the University of Nebraska, and a Master in Geology from the University of Florida. He has also been a natural scientist, specifically a paleontologist for 25 years, investigating the Earth’s history, the history and development of Life on Earth, and Earth’s place in the Universe. This exploration has led him to research and teach about Biology, Geology, and Astronomy.

    Personal Profile:

    Prof. Rudar graduated from Duquesne University. His philosophical interests are varied. He’s interested in the history of philosophy, particularly the way in which one era’s philosophical discourse gives way to another, also phenomenology and aesthetics, especially the works of Martin Heidegger and Friedrich Nietzsche.

    Introduction to Climate Studies/ Introduction to Environmental Science
    Personal Profile:

    Dr. Neser earned her Ph.D. in Geological Sciences at the University of North Carolina. She has experience in teaching Environmental Science, Climate Studies, Astronomy, Earth Science, Historical Geology, Field Geology, Prehistoric Life, and Structural Geology. A significant aspect of her approach to education involves relating the Earth system to the human system, especially since issues such as climate change, fresh water depletion, and environmental sustainability are increasingly being recognized in the public sphere.

    Personal Profile:

    Dr. Wu received his Ph.D. degree in Chemistry from Auburn University. He is very passionate about teaching and research. Over the years, he has obtained many external funding in developing novel materials for 3D printing, chemical/biological sensing, and solar cells. He has published numerous manuscripts in journals and has contributed his expertise in material science.

    Personal Profile:

    Prof. Yu completed graduate studies at the University of Connecticut in US, He received his Ph.D. degree in Applied Mathematics and an M.S. degree in Computer Engineering. He taught both mathematics and computer science courses at the College of Saint Elizabeth for more than 20 years. He also did consulting work for AT&T and the Swiss pharmaceutical company Norvatis. He is the Chair of the Mathematics and Computer Science program at the College of Saint Elizabeth. His interest is in cybersecurity and secure communications.

    Personal Profile:

    Dr. Van Quach is an instructor of General Chemistry at Seminole State College. He earned his Ph. D. in Chemistry and Biochemistry at Florida State University. Though his allegiance remains with the Florida Gators, he made his way up to Florida State University for graduate school. There, his research focused on better understanding the theoretical and fundamental processes that occur during a chemical separation. Specifically, he investigated the temperature dependence of the volume-phase ratio in liquid chromatography systems.

    Personal Profile:

    Tess joined SSC in 2009. Prior to joining SSC, she taught at Mississippi State University and Mississippi University for Women (MUW). She has been one of the leaders at SSC and MUW in the use of a common technology for statistics courses. She also utilizes Maple in “real world” applications in her calculus courses. She not only teaches a wide variety of classes, but she serves as the Statistics Lead Instructor. Through this role, she leads statistics workshops for both faculty and students. She is involved with activities on campus including being the faculty adviser for student organizations and serving on several committees that involve technology, student success, and scholarships.

    Personal Profile:

    David Morton received his Ph.D. in Texts and Technology from the University of Central Florida in 2019, where he also is an instructor in both History and Media Studies. David was a recipient of the 2016-17 Fulbright scholarship, where he conducted research as a visiting scholar at the Centre for Cinema and Media Studies (CIMS) at Ghent University. David also serves as a co-organizer and the program director for the Flickering Landscapes Conference Series, an initiative that seeks to explore place, space, and identity through examining regional film cultures and histories. His forthcoming book, Motion Pictures at a Great Saving: A History of the Florida Film Industry is currently under contract to the University of Florida Press and expected for publication in 2023.

    Personal Profile:

    Professor Sissoko has a Ph. D. in Economics from Southern Illinois University Carbondale (SIUC), USA, a Master in Economics from SIUC, USA, and a Bachelor in Econometrics from the University of Bamako, Mali. He also has a certificate of Entrepreneurship Education in Vocational and Technical Training, Turin, Italy.

    Dr. Talha Harcar, is a tenured full Professor of Marketing at Penn State Beaver campus. His teaching focuses on Marketing, Marketing Research, Advertising and Promotion, International Marketing and International Business. Dr. Harcar's teaching and professional experience includes Penn State University, Brandon University, Canada, University of Massachusetts Center for Business Research and Competitiveness, Istanbul University, Turkey, Al-Akhawayn University, Morocco, Duy Tan University De Nang, Vietnam, Jinan University, Republic of China, Ball State University, Indiana, Bank of Boston, Met Life and Ontario New Home Warranty Program. As you can tell he taught classes in four different continents. He has published over forty articles in different international and national journals. He speaks French, English, Turkish, Arabic.

    Personal Profile:

    Travis Suits obtained his master's in Experimental Psychology and Ph.D at Auburn University. He joined Seminole State College in 2009, and he has been the advisor for Phi Theta Kappa, the international honors society for two year colleges, for the past several years. In addition to teaching, he also serves on the Florida Regional Advisory Board for Phi Theta Kappa and he serves as a committee member for IACUC with a Veterinary Technician program at an institution in South Florida.
