Jinan University Summer Session is hosted by Jinan University. All of the program’s courses and transcripts are credentialed and issued by the Academic Affairs Office of Jinan University.

Jinan University is the first university for overseas Chinese students founded in China. It is currently the university with the largest number of overseas students in China, and one of the key comprehensive universities listed in the “211 Project”. The university is jointly founded by the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council, the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China, and Guangdong Province. The name of the university “Jinan” comes from “The Tribute of Yu” in the Book of History, which reads, “Reaching Eastward to the North and South, we shall spread the culture far and wide.”

Having long been known as “the First University for Overseas Chinese Students”, Jinan University abides by the wise guidance of the inspiring motto “loyalty, sincerity, integrity and respect”. Jinan University, in every facet of its operations, pays attention to cultivating talents with fine Chinese traditional moral culture and actively implements the guiding principle of “facing overseas, Hong Kong and Macau” for running a school. Personal Profile：
Dr. Sona Klucarova is an assistant professor in the Department of Marketing and Entrepreneurship at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. She received her Ph.D. in Business Administration (Marketing) from the University of Central Florida. Her research, which focuses on consumer behavior, has been published in various peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Klucarova is a native of Slovakia.

Personal Profile：
Prof.Wolf is a Senior Instructor of Philosophy at Penn State University for nearly 20 years. Prof.Wolf also won the Teaching Award and loves teaching Philosophy. She is a master at explaining difficult concepts and will assist student to love philosophy, and gaining some useful and helpful knowledge that will aid student in their life and enlightenment.

Personal Profile：
Prof. Chen is a full-time Instructor of Accounting at Pennsylvania State University. He was also the founding advisor of Accounting Society and a full-time accounting faculty at University of Minnesota. He was awarded the prestigious Michael Chowdry Entrepreneurial Scholarship. While earning an M.B.A from St. John’s University in New York, he successfully completed the highly selective Executive-In-Residence program.

Personal Profile：
Dr.Fujigaki holds a Ph.D. from the University of Chicago. He is a professor teaching courses on U.S. history, Latin American history, Latino history, Civil Rights in America, Mexican Contemporary History. He was an adjunct Faculty at the Elliott School of International Affairs at George Washington University and a visiting professor at Michigan State University and at San Diego State University. His research interests lie at the intersection of ethnic and immigration history.

Personal Profile：
Dr. Simpson received his master’s and doctorate degrees in Modern Languages from Middlebury College, as well as a Master’s in Higher Education from the Harvard School of Education. He is currently teaching at Tufts University. Dr. Simpson has published numerous poems and articles in literary journals in Spain and Latin America. Dr. Simpson is also mater in various languages like Spanish, French, Italian, Basque and Chinese, etc..

Personal Profile：
Dr. Paksoy received his doctoral degree from Brandeis University in Massachusetts. He worked as a visiting scholar at the National University of Singapore and the University of Regensburg, Germany. Upon returning to the U.S.A, he worked at Pomona College and Claremont McKenna College in California. Dr. Paksoy's research interests include algebraic and complex geometry, mathematical aspects of quantum information theory, and matrix analysis. He teaches a variety of courses from calculus to differential geometry and mathematical relativity.

Introduction to Philosophy

Personal Profile：
Dr. Eric J. Silverman has degrees in Philosophy from Rutgers University (1993), Baylor University (2003), and St. Louis University (2008). He has been a philosophy professor at Christopher Newport University since 2008, specializing in ethics and the history of thought. He has published six books and more than thirty other scholarly papers. His most recent book is Virtuous and Vicious Expressions of Partiality (Routledge 2024).

Introduction to Environmental Science

Personal Profile：
Stephen MacAvoy obtained his PhD from the University of Virginia in 2000 and conducted post-doctoral work at the University of Georgia. He joined the faculty of American University in 2003 and was Chair of the Department of Environmental Science from 2016 to 2022. Recent journal articles have appeared in Applied Geochemistry, Environmental Science and Pollution Research, Ecological Engineering and Marine Mammal Science. He is currently conducting research on the geochemistry of urban rivers and the resilience of aquatic invertebrates to climate change. In 2022 he co-authored the book "Climate Change, Science, and the Politics of Shared Sacrifice" with Professor Todd Eisenstadt in the School of Public Affairs. Working in biogeochemistry and ecology, Professor MacAvoy has been particularly interested in how nutrients and contaminants flow through, and are incorporated by, aquatic ecosystem components. Research and consulting activities have taken him to the deep ocean, the West Indies, Europe and 12 USA States.

Personal Profile：
Dr. Christopher Clarke is an Assistant Professor of Economics (Career-Track) at Washington State University. He studies public policy and income inequality. He loves connecting to students and encouraging their futures using powerful economic tools in a wide diversity of applications. He began teaching in 2013 covering introductory to master' s levels. In the Spring 2021, he was awarded the Media and Moving Images Teaching Prize for Innovative Uses in Media from the University of Houston. He presented his experience using video to teach Economics to the classroom and the general public at EconEd 2021.

Personal Profile：
Giray Ökten received his PhD from Claremont Graduate University. He has held academic positions at the University of Alaska Fairbanks, Ball State University, and Florida State University. He received a Fulbright U.S. Scholar award in 2015. He is the author of an open access textbook in numerical analysis, First Semester in Numerical Analysis with Julia, published by Florida State University Libraries, a probability textbook, Probability and Simulation, published by Springer, and the co-author of an award winning children's math book, The Mathematical Investigations of Dr. O and Arya, published by Tumblehome. His research interests include Monte Carlo methods and computational finance. He is currently a professor of mathematics at Florida State University.

Personal Profile：
Dr. Jordan Shapiro teaches at Temple University in Philadelphia, PA USA, where he serves as core faculty in both the Intellectual Heritage and the Gender, Sexuality, and Women's Studies programs. His academic background is in archetypal psychology and phenomenology. He is the author of two internationally bestselling books that have been translated into more than a dozen languages. His work on feminism and fatherhood has been especially well received; the New York Times Book Review called it, “utterly mind-blowing.”

Dr. Robert J. Kodosky, received his Ph.D. from Temple University. He is currently a Professor of history at West Chester University, Pennsylvania. He is the author of The Nile Swim Club of Yeadon: A History (The History Press, 2024); Tuskegee in Philadelphia: Rising to the Challenge (The History Press, 2020), Psychological Operations American Style: The Joint United States Public Affairs Office, Vietnam and Beyond (Lexington Books, 2007). He is the co-author with Brent J. Ruswick, Ph.D., of Construction Ahead: Making American History Since 1865 (Great River Learning, 2024). Other contributions include essays in The Encyclopedia of Military Science, Kurt Piehler, Ph.D., ed., (Sage, 2013); The Routledge History of Social Protest Music, Jonathan C. Friedman, Ph.D., ed. (Routledge, 2013). His writing about about recent American history appears in a variety of other publications including the Encyclopedia of Greater Philadelphia.
